Following their Special General Meeting with an overwhelming majority vote, JHI members approved a merger of the association membership into Abacus Worldwide. The merged association will continue as Abacus Worldwide and now counts with 115 legal and accounting member firms in 225 offices spanning 50 countries. With this added growth, Abacus Worldwide ranks among the top 12 global accounting associations with member global revenue of nearly $500 Million.
The main objective of the merger is to provide greater benefit to members and their clients by creating better geographic coverage, increased possibilities for collaboration and more business development opportunities. In addition, this merger will allow Abacus to push forward on strategic initiatives that will enhance member programs, member connectivity and member engagement. Leveraging Abacus technology investments, the group has identified three key areas of focus: Business Referrals, Knowledge Exchange and Practice Management Tools.
Brian Pashen, JHI International Chairman stated: “It is a top priority for members to engage in knowledge sharing and business development activities and through this merger we will provide members with more opportunities to leverage their membership. Abacus is a future ready, member focused association and JHI members are confident the association will be an excellent home for them. We look forward to a successful union.”
Abacus Worldwide President and CEO Julio Gabay added: “Celebrating its 8th year in existence, Abacus Worldwide has rapidly developed into a top-tier accounting and legal association. We are truly pleased to welcome the JHI members to Abacus Worldwide and look forward to continuing to develop a valuable association as one. We are better together.”
